My pregnancy, like the majority of pregnancies, took unexpected twist and turns. There were many times that I found myself in darkness with the many decisions I had to make surrounding my care. Jenna was at every corner, helping me navigate my choices, not telling me what to do, but intuitively guiding me so that I felt empowered to choose my path. When it came time to birth, Jenna showed up with kindness, empathy, wisdom and love for my entire family. I can't imagine a more trustworthy, wise and wonderful midwife. On May 2019, me and my Husband lived the most amazing event; the miracle of experiencing a natural birth (no epidural, no C-section, etc). It all started when I decided to have a natural birth for my baby girl and began interviewing multiple midwives in El Paso, TX. As soon as I met Jennifer ("Jenna") Olliges, I knew I had found the perfect midwife for me and my baby girl. From the very beginning, Jenna was very friendly, supportive, caring, accessible and most importantly very professional and knowledgeable to answer all of my questions related to pregnancy, birth and lactation. My Name is Dymon, I didn’t have the best experience with my first child in the hospital, so I decided when I got Pregnant 10 yrs later I wanted to try a Natural Birth with a Midwife and Doula. My Fiancé Tony and I researched to see who would be the
best candidate in Louisville, I was referred to Jenna by 2 women who were Lactation consultants. I was told Jenna and her staff was amazing.
So I reached out to Jenna 3 months into my pregnancy, and the first time we met I knew she would be amazing fit to deliver my daughter. Jenna and her assistants Meka and Rebecca were very kind and caring and encouraging while attending my visits. I felt so comfortable at my visit, Jenna was so welcoming to my family who were going to be there when I delivered my daughter. Jenna made my Fiancé feel special by being open to see if he had any questions throughout my journey and visits. The day my Daughter Amethyst came into this world 3/30/22, I remember when I called Jenna, her staff came right over. Meka did a wonderful job assisting me while I was having contractions, Rebecca did amazing helping assist with setting up and breaking down. Jenna and Rebecca helped my Fiancé fill up the birthing pool.

I was on the couch on my knees and Jenna was right there behind me helping me with position so delivery would go smooth. Jenna encouraged me to keep pushing and before you know it, all I heard was, she is here. I was so happy, it was so calming having my baby Natural, Jenna did a great job setting the mood just how I wanted it when my baby girl arrived. Mediation music was playing softly, diffuser was on and in the air with Lavender scent, Incense was lit, this was so relaxing to me just like I manifested. Calm smooth delivery. Jenna helped me push out the placenta so I could place it in bag and keep In my freezer. Jenna and her staff stayed with me to show me how to get baby to latch on and I was even made a herbal post-partum bath that I could soak in after delivery. Jenna and her staff was so helpful, washing sheets, towels and helped my Fiancé empty the birthing pool.
I would highly recommend to use Jenna and her staff, If you are thinking of having a Natural at home birth. Jenna has the expertise and experience you and your family needs to delivery a happy, healthy baby. My Fiancé and I are planing on having 1 more baby and we will most definitely use Jenna again in the future. My daughter Amethyst will 6 months on September 30th.

“My spouse and I were very shocked when we found out that we were expecting baby #3. But we knew instantly we wanted to go the midwife/home birth approach if possible. I had two prior natural births but in hospitals, and neither of them I felt autonomy over my own self or baby. My first child was born when I was 16 and I was treated then with such little respect, nobody cared to inform a teen mom of what the tests were they were doing meant or let me even make choices regarding my prenatal care. My second pregnancy wasn’t much different, and I began to question if that is just how birth and pregnancy play out in the US. I felt traumatized by my previous births, and anxious even thinking about putting myself through a pregnancy/birth again because of these experiences. I was eager for a different experience this go around, which is precisely what I had with Jenna as my Midwife. We researched all the options offered locally for midwifery care, interviewed all we could- and there was a distinct sense of comfortability and trust felt once we met Jenna. Jenna and Meka provided exemplary care and support to me and our family. Neither ever hesitated to explain/answer our questions, showed an ounce of irritation when our very persistent and inquisitive 3yr and 6yr olds were present during appointments, or had issue with my house being untidy during their visits either. Jenna is diligent to provide information and educational materials on all aspects of pregnancy/testing/etc. throughout the care she provides. Jenna never pushed me to do anything I was uncomfortable or unsure of, encouraged me to do my own research on topics and never gave issue to any choices we made. I felt constant encouragement, understanding, and support from Jenna and Meka.
The birth of my daughter happened very quickly. Literally Jenna came as soon as I told her, and we had 7 minutes to spare before baby was born! Instead of the water birth I had fantasized of - my daughter was born whilst I was on my knees supporting myself on our couch. But it was perfect. It was empowering and healing. I didn’t have a nurse holding the head of my baby in my body so the doctor could make it in - I had power and ability to follow the lead of my body. My body and baby were in perfect harmony, with no pressure from my birth team to “push on 3” or “open your legs wider”. I was able to instantly place my baby on my chest for skin to skin, and was explained to every step of the way what was happening when delivering my placenta. Which I also got the choice to keep, and Jenna not only showed it to me and my family explaining all of the the things it had and did but also pressed it onto paper making lifetime keepsakes of the organ I grew.
My daughter is now nearly 11 months old, and there’s not a single thing I’d change about my birth or the care I received.
I feel so passionate about advocating for birthing rights, informed consent, and the ability to have a midwife and home birth if that’s what you feel is best for you now more than ever. "We are so grateful we found Jenna to assist us with the homebirth of
our second daughter, Iris. Jenna and her assistant Meka were so
supportive from the moment we met. The care they provided during
prenatal visits was thorough, intentional and very warm. I cannot
stress how lovely it was to have them visit our home! Each visit was
comfortable and easeful -- and honestly it felt quite luxurious not to
have to leave home. Jenna was patient and compassionate in answering
every question we had -- we truly felt like there were no dumb
questions and she was supportive of our choices each step of the way,
often offering her personal perspective as a mother in a way that was
so helpful. When it came time to birth Iris into this world, I felt
the reassuring, knowledgeable presence of Jenna and her team but they
were so light-footed that Iris' birth unfolded naturally, without any

Rebecca, made sure we had everything we needed during labor and stayed
for four hours after Iris was born, and returned for a handful of
in-home check-ups in the days and weeks following. Such close and
gentle care really gave us peace of mind and our whole family felt so

Jenna made all our homebirth dreams come true.
We switched to Jenna's care at 20 weeks for our second child (we birthed in a hospital for our first). She let us lead and guided us with her wisdom in all of our prenatal appointments and throughout labor. She truly honors the process of physiological birth and her calm and steady presence throughout labor was so empowering. Throughout the 20 weeks she was just a text message away for any worries and made us feel fully equipped and confident for birth. Her compassionate and calm support was everything I needed for my first six weeks of postpartum care. Her approach is warm, consenting, and educational (I learned so much more about birth and myself this time around)!
